Paul Dickinson
Partner
Paul joined Crossley and Davis in 2002, following an early career at HMRC. Since then, he has been advising a wide range of local businesses – from sole traders to established firms – on tax compliance and planning. In particular, Paul specialises in working with clients in the construction sector, offering practical, sector-specific advice drawn from years of experience. As a result, he has built long-standing relationships with clients who value clear, dependable guidance.
Away from the office, Paul is a long-standing supporter of Burnley FC and a passionate follower of Widnes Rugby League.
Ben Taylor
Partner
Ben helps business owners take control of their finances through clear, practical advice. With a no-nonsense approach, he blends commercial insight with a genuine passion for helping clients succeed. As a result, his support is both strategic and refreshingly straightforward.
Outside of work, Ben enjoys time with his twins, Freddie and Libbie, who keep him grounded – and occasionally glittery. A devoted Bolton Wanderers fan, he supports his team through thick and thin and enjoys exploring the countryside around Bolton whenever he can.
Rebecca Senior
Tax Specialist
Rebecca joined Crossley & Davis as an apprentice in 2016. Since then, she has completed her AAT qualification and is currently working towards her ATT. Over time, she has taken on increasing responsibility and now handles all aspects of both personal and corporate taxation within the firm.
Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys watching Oldham Athletic (most of the time, at least) and serves as scorer for her local cricket team – a role she approaches with the same focus she brings to her tax work.
Paula Cross
Payroll & Outsourcing
Paula joined Crossley and Davis in 2003 after completing her degree at Manchester Metropolitan University. Since then, she has become a vital part of the team, managing all aspects of payroll alongside bookkeeping, VAT, and the preparation of management accounts for businesses of all sizes.
Beyond the office, Paula enjoys travelling, cycling, and playing an active role in her family’s business – keeping her just as busy off the clock as on it.
Karen Taylor
Accounts Manager
Karen joined Crossley and Davis in the early 90’s, following a short stint at another local accountancy firm. Having spent most of her working life with us, she brings a wealth of experience and continuity to the team. Her main responsibilities include bookkeeping and the preparation of management and annual accounts for small and medium-sized businesses.
Outside of work, Karen is a proud football mum to three sons, regularly spending her weekends pitch-side supporting their individual teams. When time allows, she also enjoys travelling and exploring new places.
Poppy Banton
Accountant
Poppy joined Crossley and Davis in 2023 as an apprentice and is currently studying towards her AAT qualification. Alongside her studies, she supports small and medium-sized businesses with their day-to-day accounting needs, including payroll and the preparation of year-end accounts. Despite being early in her career, Poppy brings a methodical and enthusiastic approach to every task.
Outside the office, she enjoys staying active at the gym, going for long walks, and occasionally indulging in a bit of retail therapy.
